- Ensor bestemde de prent "De molenduivel" voor de bibliofiele uitgave van een bundel verhalen van de Antwerpse schrijver Horace van Offel (1878-1944). De uitgave verscheen in 1935 bij de Brusselse uitgever Editions des Artistes op 396 exemplaren. Er bestaan 25 genummerde exemplaren op Japans paarlemoerpapier, in sanguine afgedrukt. Voor de prent baseerde Ensor zich op Van Offels kortverhaal over het heiligenleven van Saint-Charmant, een eremijt die door de duivel werd belaagd. De duivel slaagde erin de inwoners van het nabije dorp tegen Saint-Charmant op te zetten, en de heilige werd aan de wieken van een molen vastgebonden. Door een stormwind maakten de molenwieken zich van de molen los en zo werd Saint-Charmant ten hemel gevoerd.
